Goa is a state on the southwestern coast of India, bordered by the Arabian Sea to the west and the states of Maharashtra and Karnataka to the north and east, respectively. The region boasts a diverse landscape featuring beautiful beaches along its coastline, dense forests in parts, and the Western Ghats mountain range. Goa has a significant colonial history, having been ruled by the Portuguese for over 450 years until it was liberated and became a part of India in 1961. The Portuguese legacy is evident in Goa’s architecture, cuisine, and culture, creating a unique blend of Indian and European influences.
