The Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a union territory of India located in the Bay of Bengal. Comprising a group of islands, it’s known for its stunning natural beauty, diverse marine life, and unique cultural heritage. Situated in the southeastern part of the Bay of Bengal, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are closer to Thailand and Myanmar than to mainland India.
The population comprises various ethnic groups, including indigenous tribes like the Great Andamanese, Onge, Jarwa, and Sentinalese. Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, and Nicobarese languages are spoken. English is also widely understood due to tourism. The islands are under the governance of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Union Territory, with its own Lieutenant Governor.
